The Gaither Harrison Brooks Scholarship was named for the church’s former pastor who served from 1988 to 1993 and was killed in an automobile accident. A scholarship fund was established in 1994 in his honor by Bishop Jerry L. Maynard, Sr., current pastor of Cathedral of Praise Church. He felt this scholarship would exemplify the work of Elder Gaither Brooks, who had a great love for young people and was an avid supporter of education.
